GENERAL SCIENCE KNOWLEDGE CONTEST

Object: To have the most correct answers on a timed, multiple choice test of general science knowledge.

Rules:

1. There are 3 tests available. The test taken will be based on the grade level of the student taking the exam.

  • Grades 5-6;Geology, Oceanography, Meteorology, Biology, Astronomy
  • Grades 7-8;Geology, Oceanography, Meteorology, Biology, Astronomy, Physics
  • Grades 9-12;Geology, Oceanography, Meteorology, Biology, Astronomy, Physics, Chemistry

2. Students will have up to 40 minutes to work on the test.

3. The topics covered in the exams will be from the Selected Reading, below.

4. Students who are heard discussing the content of the test will be disqualified. This includes those who tell what was on their test, those who listen to others tell what was on the test, those who ask what was on the test, and those who talk during the test.

Judging: The tests will be scored on the basis of the number of correct answers. The student with the highest score wins. In the event of a tie, the tying student with the least incorrect answers will be declared the winner.
