| Lyn Scott (French)French and foreign languages have always been in my life. I attended a wonderful private school in which French was revered as much as required. My teachers came from France and had thick accents. Though we had daily French lessons beginning in first grade, I didn't understand them until 4th grade! I was blessed with a grandmother who knew 4 languages and encouraged me to pursue them. Upon entering the University of Puget Sound I admit I was kind of sick of French and "marking my accents" so I audited a class for fun. I was accepted into a French Literature class at Colgate University and received an internship in Public Relations with the Seattle Art Museum. I graduated with a BA in English and minor in Politics and Government (I like debating!) I have taught French privately and through 2 Homeschool Associations for over 8 years. I have substituted at Evergreen Christian, Bellingham Christian and the Ferndale district. I became a follower of Jesus when I was 16 through Young Life, and after college I was a volunteer leader in North Seattle for 3 years. Married, with 4 kids. I am active at our church Calvary Chapel NW and it is my desire to help others grow deeper in their faith. My philosophy of teaching is "Seize the Day!" I joined ZLO in the Fall of 2003. Why is French an important language to learn? Click here and see! Back to Our Instructors |
