The almanac states that 43 countries claim Spanish as their national language. In the US, Spanish is sponken second only to English.
 

This class maintains an emphasis on oral comprehension and speaking. Some geography, history and culture are presented. Grammar includes the present, future, and past tenses, word order, noun-adjective correlation and polite command form. Games are used to practice vocabulary and grammar. We sing traditional Latin American songs and translations of English songs. Writing dictations, reading the Bible and children stories are part of class work. Homework may be writing original sentences, worksheets or written exercises. Two semesters of Spanish I are equivalent to one year of high school Spanish.

In the world, 322 million people speak Spanish as their native language, surpassed only by Chinese, Hindi, and English.

Building on Spanish I, there is continued emphasis on comprehension and speaking. More detail is included in the study of grammar, including past perfect, conditional, and subjunctive tenses, prepositions and conjunctions. We will continue to build vocabulary through reading aloud, original writing, and oral presentation. Two semesters are equivalent to 2nd year high school Spanish.

Spanish III and Spanish IV

Spanish is an asset for international business as well as for international mission work. Learning a second language in a classrom setting, as opposed to learning a language as a child, is not easy. Studying in a small group with ample opportunity for individual attention and practice helps learning.

Conversational Spanish, grammar and vocabulary are presented according to students' needs.
